Esther David is an Indian-Jewish author from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. She has received the national ‘Sahitya Akademi Award’ for her novel ‘Book of Rachel’ and the ‘National Jewish Book Award, USA’ for ‘Bene Appetit: The Cuisine of Indian Jews.’ She was an art critic and columnist for The Times of India, Ahmedabad edition and also illustrates her novels, which are translated into French, Hebrew, Marathi, and Gujarati.
Namrata Dwivedi began her career with Air France and then served as an Administrative Secretary at Alliance Française de Ahmedabad. During her time there, she translated a story by Guy de Maupassant into Gujarati and worked on various French to Gujarati translation tasks. She also collaborated with Niranjan Bhagat and two other Alliance members to create a French to Gujarati dictionary. Additionally, she has documented her mother Anila Dwivedi’s recipes in Gujarati. Since 2000, she has been working with Esther David as a research assistant and editor for her novels centered around Jewish life and food. Together, they have also worked on a Gujarati book about the 2001 earthquake titled “Ane dhara dhruji.” She currently resides in Ahmedabad and speaks English, Gujarati, Hindi, and French.

His specialities are photographing people and culture, architecture, interiors, heritage sites, food, wildlife, agriculture, and industries. He lives in Ahmedabad.
